Luke 1:33

The Everlasting Kingdom

And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end. Luke 1:33

Of His Kingdom it is said that nothing vile, unclean, impure, or that makes a lie or false matter will enter in to it, but only those that have washed themselves in the blood of the lamb; and they shall walk with Him in robes of white. For the person who is bent on seeking the vanities of this present fleeting world this may not seem very appealing. The allure is diminished, obscured and drowned in the mad absorption of pleasure seeking, self-promotion, and the pursuits of this life. Only ponder this: the present world indeed does have many pleasant and delightful things; but these are not even a shadow of the glories to come. Since God has furnished this world with many pleasant things, what can his omnipotence and creativity furnish in the world to come that He is using His unlimited ability to create? And ponder this. `` Of His Kingdom there shall be no end.  It goes on and on and on and on forever and ever and ever.  Where will you be?

Matthew 16:25

Saving Your Life For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. Matthew 16:25

If you save your life, you will lose it. What does this mean? Your life in this sense is what you desire, plan for, and live for in this present world, as opposed to Christ, His kingdom, and the future world in heaven with Him. If you choose self-gratification, pleasure, worldly goals and living for self, Jesus calls this ``saving your life.”

``Losing your life” is to come to Him by faith, kneeling at the cross, and then living for Him in accordance with His word. If we prefer to hold on to the old way of self-seeking and self promotion we lose Him, life and eternal happiness in heaven, in exchange for the empty, barren, fleeting gratifications of this present sinful world. CHOOSE LIFE!

Isaiah 54:13

Taught by the Lord Isaiah 54:13

And all thy children shall be taught of the LORD; and great shall be the peace of thy children. Isaiah 54:13.

The Bible says that an undisciplined child, left to himself will bring shame to a parent. To have good instructors is a blessing, but this passage teaches of a golden age in the future when we will be led and taught by the LORD. What will be the result of this teaching? Great shall be the peace of thy children. When children are undisciplined and untaught there is strife, confusion and rebellion such as we witness in our age, but in that future millennium we shall all be taught of the LORD  with the result that peace and blessing will cover the earth as the ocean.

Isaiah 65:17

A New Heaven and a New Earth Isaiah 65:17

For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind. Isaiah 65:17

As we look abroad in the earth we see a world engulfed in confusion, slander, broken promises, lies, murders, intrigues,  pain and bedlam. The cause of all this misery is the rebellious heart of man who disobeys the teachings and commands of God  in order to pursue his own desires, wishes, schemes, and designs with the obvious results of confusion, suffering and pain.

But the text tells us of the time when King Jesus will reign, His will shall be done, there will be no more self-will, lying, cheating, or perversions or sins of any sort. The Bible tells us that peace will flow like a river, righteousness will cover the world like the oceans, the lion will lie down beside the lamb in sweet harmony.

We each need to ask ourselves if we would fit in and form a harmonious part of this new world?  If not, we need to betake ourselves to the Savior, ask pardon for our sins, put our faith in Him and let Him give us a new heart, so that we will be prepared to take our part in a world of righteousness. Amen

John 12:32

Christ lifted up John 12:32

And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me. John 12:32

Dear Jesus, truly you were lifted up on that cruel cross of Calvary.  Truly you were raised from that tomb where they laid you. Truly you were lifted up in the sight of your disciples and ascended to heaven where you sit exalted at the right hand of the Father. And truly all who catch a vision of this are drawn to you. And how could it be otherwise? How could anyone catch a true vision of yourself lifted up in this way, without  falling to his knees and saying ``My Lord and my God”?

And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and his name one. Zechariah 14:9

Matthew 24:35

Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. Matthew 24:35

We live in a world given to change.  We are born, we live, dream, plan, hope, strive, suffer and then we pass on. The astronomers tell us that the very stars are born, have a life, and then die, while new stars repeat the same cycle. All that we see impresses us with the transitory nature of everything.

But blessed be God, after all created things have suffered annihilation, the Word of God will still remain. God’s kingdom stands fast, and Jesus, the living Word, will reign forever and ever and ever.

Where will you be in this vast scheme of things?

John 8:32

What is Truth? John 8:32

And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. John 8:32

Pilate’s question to Jesus was, ``What is truth?”   So frivolous was his enquiry that he did not even wait for the answer; the answer from the only one who could have supplied it. Omar Khayyam said that he had heard many wrangles, perplexities, and discussions on the subject  from all classes of philosophers and disputants who could never arrive at any agreement on the subject. His conclusion was that the discussion was a revolving door, from which one exited  by the same way he entered without resolving anything. He shrugged off the question opting for “A jug of wine, and a loaf of bread.”

Jesus settled the question.  He said “I am the way, THE TRUTH, and the life. Know Him and you know the truth.  Embrace Him and you have LIFE.  Amen.

Matthew 24:13

Perseverance

But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. Matthew 24:13

Jesus speaks here of the coming tribulation period that because of the increasing corruption, sin, and persecution the love of many will become cold, and they will be discouraged from  serving Him.  He adds that those that continue faithful to Him to the end will be saved. All that truly belong to Him will continue faithful as He says in another place, ``My sheep hear my voice and they follow me;

and in Romans 8:29,30  For whom He did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that  he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.  Spurgeon says that these are links in a golden chain that cannot be broken.
