Matthew 28:6
He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come and see the place where the Lord lay. Matthew 28:6
Jesus had repeatedly stated that he would be killed in Jerusalem and rise again the third day. It seems that few had understood or believed him, but now like Samson carrying the gates, bar and all, He has risen, victorious over death and the grave. “O Death, where is thy sting? O Grave, where is thy victory?” Jesus told John in the Revelation, “ I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen. What does this mean for you? “If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” Romans 10:9.
